Murrieta, CA – The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the Hit and Run driver who injured a U.S. Marine's 9 year old son on his way to school.

The incident happened on November 01, 2016  at approximately 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Briggs Rd. and Baxter Rd. as William Berglund, 9 was riding his bike on a crosswalk attempting to cross Baxter Rd. from the north to the south when a vehicle described as a silver Toyota Camry or an Acura traveled northbound on Briggs Rd.

According to surveillance video, the vehicle appeared to slow down as it was turning right from Briggs Rd. onto Baxter Rd. hitting William who had not yet finished crossing the street.

According to news reports and video of the incident, the driver of the vehicle fled the area immediately after the impact without stopping to check on William or render aid. conducted an area assessment and based on the details that we were able to gather from different sources, we determined that the driver of the vehicle and the vehicle most likely reside in the neighborhood.
