Riverside, CA – Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 3:27 a.m. the driver of a white Honda Civic lost control of the vehicle as he drove southbound on the I-215 freeway just south of University Ave, spunout and collided onto a CHP patrol vehicle that was parked on the left shoulder as CHP Officers were investigating another accident.
A few minutes later as the Officers at the scene were conducting field sobriety tests on the driver of the Civic, a third accident occurred as another vehicle a small pickup truck also spunout and collided against the center divider and was caught on film. That driver was instructed by Officers to file a police report at the CHP office since no other individuals or vehicles were involved.
The driver of the Civic was then arrested and placed in a patrol vehicle.
The damaged CHP patrol car was towed away to the Riverside Field CHP office.
According to Officers at the scene no Officers were injured when the Civic collided with the patrol vehicle however at least one Officer was near it when it was struck.
